Using the tools

These services are provided under the SqftTool name. Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@sqfttool.com.

These terms cover SqftTool’s free area calculators, unit converters and measuring guides. The tools help you measure spaces, compare area units and plan material purchases.

You may use the tools for personal projects and normal work or business projects. This includes use by contractors, home improvement businesses and building-material suppliers.

You may copy, print and share your own inputs and calculation results for project records, discussions with customers and quotation support. We do not claim ownership of the measurements you enter or the numerical results you calculate.

Checking measurements and estimates

Results depend on the measurements, units, shapes and assumptions you enter. Check your inputs, avoid counting overlapping areas twice and review any added or subtracted sections before relying on a result.

Measured area, waste allowance and whole-box purchase quantity are different. Product coverage, installation patterns and actual waste can vary. Check the product label and supplier or installer instructions before ordering.

Material cost is an estimate based on the prices you enter. It does not include labor, delivery, tax or other project costs unless you account for them separately. Example prices and percentages are illustrations, not offers or guaranteed market prices.

The tools support planning; they do not certify a property measurement, building-code compliance or a construction project. Use an appropriately qualified professional where your project requires one.

Saved work and backups

Saved calculations are browser records, not a cloud account or a backup service. They may be lost if site data is cleared, private browsing ends or browser storage becomes unavailable. Keep a separate copy of results you need.

Starting a new calculation keeps previous records. The Privacy Policy’s storage section explains how to clear this site’s data through your browser.

Website content and permissions

Permission to use the calculators for your work is different from permission to copy or resell the website. Original text, diagrams, software and brand assets are subject to their applicable intellectual property rights. Third-party materials remain subject to their own rights and licenses.

Except where a license or applicable law permits it, you need permission to republish substantial website content, copy the calculator software, resell access to our tools or embed them as part of another service. Ordinary use of this website does not provide a separate API, embedding or redistribution license.

These terms do not claim exclusive rights over common mathematical formulas, unit relationships or independently created tools. You may share links to our pages without implying that we endorse your business or project.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, impersonate the site or interfere with other people’s use. Automated access must not damage, overwhelm or bypass protections on the service. Access that disrupts the service may be restricted.

Normal use of the website by a business is permitted; it is not the same as copying the website or reselling the tools.

External references and advertising

Links to manufacturers, reference sources and other websites are provided for relevant information. Their services, terms and privacy practices are separate from ours. A link does not by itself establish a partnership or endorsement.

Advertising may support the site in the future, but no advertising service is currently enabled. If ads are introduced, an advertiser’s claims, products and offers should be checked with that advertiser. Any data collection associated with advertising will be explained in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and your legal rights

Tools and guides may be corrected, updated or temporarily unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that an estimate will meet every project’s requirements. Keep your own records and check important results before making a purchase or commitment.

You remain responsible for the measurements and product information you supply and the project decisions you make. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights you have under applicable law.

The final published terms will identify the site operator and include any provisions needed for the regions the site serves.

Updates, privacy and contact

When these terms change, the revision date above will be updated. Material changes affecting how the service may be used will be brought to users’ attention.

The Privacy Policy explains data handling and optional Google Analytics and planned advertising. These terms do not substitute for any separate privacy choices or consent required for those services.
