Privacy Policy
How your calculation records are handled, what stays in your browser and which services are planned.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how information is handled when you use SqftTool’s calculators, area converters, measuring guides and support pages. These services are provided under the SqftTool name. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@sqfttool.com.
The current tools do not require an account or payment. Your calculations run in your browser. There is no cloud account or cross-device synchronization for saved calculations.
Your calculations and saved records
The calculators can save your work in this browser as you type. Saved records can include room or section names, dimensions, units, shapes, added or subtracted areas, material settings and the time a record was updated. This uses browser storage, commonly called local storage.
When you explicitly continue a calculation on another calculator page, in a guide or in an area converter, information may also be held locally to carry that work between pages. A link may contain a temporary reference to that local record; it does not contain the room names or measurements themselves.
The current calculator code does not upload these records to a calculation server. Saved records are available in the same browser profile on the same device. Someone with access to that profile may be able to access them.
Copying a result writes it to your clipboard only when you choose the copy action. Printing or saving a PDF uses your browser’s print controls. The report includes the measurements, names and material settings you entered; review it before sending it to someone else. The website link in a copied or printed result opens SqftTool and does not restore that calculation on another device.
Keeping and clearing local records
Saved calculations do not have a fixed automatic expiry. They remain until removed through your browser or cleared by browser settings or storage limits. Temporary page-to-page information is separate from these saved calculations and may stop being usable sooner.
Starting a new calculation does not delete previous calculations. There is currently no separate control on this site for deleting saved records.
To remove them, open your browser’s site settings and clear the stored data for this site, including local storage. This removes saved calculations and preferences in that browser. Clearing browsing history alone may not remove site data.
Private browsing and browser storage settings can prevent records from being kept. Save a copy of results you need; this site does not provide a cloud backup of local records.
Website visits and external links
Requesting a web page involves connection information such as an IP address, browser information, the requested page and the time of the request. Hosting or security services may process this information to deliver and protect a public website.
Cloudflare provides website hosting, delivery and security, and may process connection information for those purposes. Local calculation storage does not mean that website delivery creates no connection data.
Cloudflare also provides performance measurements, such as page-load timing, through its browser beacon. This performance service does not use cookies or read your browser-saved calculations. It is separate from our optional Google Analytics integration and its cookie choices. See Cloudflare’s performance-beacon documentation and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for details.
Some guides link to external references. When you follow a link to another website, that website’s privacy policy applies to your visit.
Google Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics is configured on sqfttool.com with regional choices and a footer opt-out. Advertising is not active.
On the production website, Google Analytics (GA4), provided by Google, is configured to help us understand visits, tool use and whether people reach usable results. It uses analytics cookies and processes browser/device information, online identifiers and general location information. Google receives connection information as part of these requests; see Google’s explanation of partner-site data use.
Our measurement records page visits and a small set of tool actions. We do not send room or section names, dimensions, area values, product prices, costs, email addresses, saved calculation contents or private continuation references to Analytics. Page addresses and referrers are reduced to approved public pages or referring website origins. Advertising collection, Google Signals and ad personalization are not enabled by this integration.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Analytics loads only after acceptance. If the country cannot be determined, we also wait for your choice. Elsewhere it may load by default, subject to applicable requirements and your choice. Cloudflare’s country information is used on our own hosting endpoint for this decision; we do not use a separate third-party location lookup or send the country response as a custom Analytics event.
Use Analytics choices in the footer to accept or reject optional analytics. An explicit rejection takes priority over the regional default. Rejecting or withdrawing stops future collection by our Analytics integration and clears its first-party analytics cookies where accessible. It does not delete data already received by Google or your saved calculations. Calculator and local-save features work independently of this choice.
Your explicit analytics choice is stored in this browser for up to six months. Our Analytics cookies are configured for a six-month lifetime without extending that period on each visit. User- and event-level Analytics retention is set to two months; aggregate reports may follow different retention rules. Local session flags prevent repeated tool-stage events and contain no measurement values; they are not sent to Google.
Advertising remains a future service. Before it is enabled, this policy and any required choices will be updated to identify its providers, purposes and settings. Accepting analytics does not authorize future advertising.
Reading this policy is not treated as consent. Requests to Google may be processed outside your country, under Google’s applicable safeguards. For privacy requests, contact contact@sqfttool.com.
Information you choose to send
You can contact SqftTool at contact@sqfttool.com. The contact page opens your email app or lets you copy the address; it does not submit a form.
If you email us, your message may include your email address, name and any details or screenshots you choose to provide. We use that information to respond to your question or request. Email routing and mailbox services process the information needed to deliver and store the message. Leave out home addresses and other personal details that are not needed to explain your question.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can manage or clear this site’s local records through your browser settings. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase records stored only in your browser.
Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or request deletion of personal information we hold, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have a right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. You can send a request to contact@sqfttool.com. We cannot retrieve records kept only in your browser.
Updates and contact
This policy will be updated when the site’s actual data practices change. The date above shows the latest revision. Material changes to data collection will be explained before the changed services are activated.
For questions about this policy, email contact@sqfttool.com or visit the Contact page. The Terms of Use explain how you may use the tools and their results.
